Underwriting Administrators
Role Purpose
To provide administration support to Mortgage Underwriters in processing and assessing mortgage applications
Permanent
Reports to: Underwriting Manager
Principal Responsibilities
·Accurately log new applications on to the database and correctly mark the application folders.
·To answer incoming calls quickly and politely and provide assistance to brokers, clients and lenders with their queries, whilst ensuring that Data Protection rules are strictly adhered to.
·To accurately photocopy packaged cases for submission to the lender and ensure all file copies are correctly stapled together.
·To ensure urgent faxes are sent immediately and receipt confirmed.
·To ensure all files are filed away in the correct filing cabinets.
·To print off and action team chase lists for chasing outstanding information from brokers, references, valuation reports, offers etc. Ensure full, accurate chase notes and contact notes are entered on the database record, in line with company procedures.
Experience:
·Customer service related.·Experience of working in an office environment.
Qualifications:
·Maths GCSE or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
Skills
·Excellent communication skills
·Ability to organise and prioritise day-to-day workloads to ensure that all task are completed on time.
·Able to respond quickly and positively to requests and problems that arise.
·Ability to concentrate on data for long periods without becoming distracted.
This position has excellent prospects; administrators will receive full training and the opportunity to work their way up the company to become a fully trained Underwriter.
