Underwriter - Kent

Are you the best ?Our client is a fast expanding financial services company based Kent.We now require a sub prime underwriter.Salary will be negotiable with major benefits. JOB TITLE: UnderwriterREPORTS TO: Underwriting ManagerOBJECTIVE: Provision of accurate and timely mortgage underwriting which meets product criteria and adheres to regulatory requirementsMain Responsibilities:· Assess applications against product criteria · Operate within business SLA’s· Underwrite mortgage applications within given mandate level· Escalate underwriting queries immediately to the Underwriting Manager· Actively explore alternative options before withdrawing a case· Ensure all underwriting decisions are supported with relevant documentation· Liaise with packagers and account managers to maintain the flow of information & to promote strong business relationships· Ensure all underwriting requirements are met prior to offer· Liaise with Completions Department to ensure cases complete satisfactorily· Take ownership for allocated case load· Adhere to all compliance & quality assurance requirements· Operate a ‘service driven’ culture· Ensure product, underwriting, and compliance knowledge is maintained, developed and up to date· Actively participate in training and development opportunitiesPerson Specification:2 years underwriting experience with a mortgage lender, Must have sub-prime experienceGood knowledge of FSA, CCA, DPA regulationsCeMap qualifiedSelf-starter, decisive, service orientated
